Frequently Asked Questions

When and where will the races be starting and finishing?

All Saturday and Sunday events will start and finish take at beautiful Government House, 51 Woodstock Road, Fredericton.

What are the official routes?

Detail on routes can be found under the News section of our site.

Is there a course time limit?

Finish line and course support will wrap up by noon, which gives participants a maximum time to finish of 3 1/2 hours for the half.

Where and when will be the race-kit pick up?

Saturday pick up will be in the basement of Government House (use the side entrance) from 1 - 5 PM, and there will be a pick up on Sunday for out of towners from 7 - 8:30 AM.

Is there somewhere I can leave my things?

Yes!  We'll have a bag drop in the basement of Government House from 7:30 - noon.

I've changed my mind on how far I want to run / walk.  Can I transfer distances?

Yes, you can!  This is done online, through Race Roster.  If you're using a desktop computer, you should see Transfer as a button on the right of the registration page, and also on the left.  If you're on a mobile device, it is an option within the drop down menu at the top.  Note that if you are moving from a shorter distance to a longer one, you will be charged the difference; however, if you're "dropping down", you will not be refunded the difference.

I'm no longer able to participate.  Can I get a refund, or defer to next year?

We do not offer refunds; however, we do offer deferrals up September 13th.  If you missed this deadline, you have the option of either transferring to another distance, or transferring your registration to someone else who can take your place.  Transfers will take place up until Saturday, September 2st.

I love to run with my dog and/or baby.  Can they join me during the race?

Unfortunately, we cannot allow strollers or dogs in our event, for insurance purposes, but they're welcome to cheer you on from the sidelines (with a parent or guardian, of course)!

Can I wear headphones or earbuds?

We don't recommend wearing any headphones or earbuds; however, if you choose to do so please make sure you run with only one earbud or have the volume low enough that you can still hear race officials and other runners around you at all times.

My children want to run.  What event should they enter?

We love to see all family members run, walk and have fun!  We're happy to offer shorter distances for kids on Saturday, as well as a 3K fun run/walk.  To ensure children stay involved, healthy, and interested in sport for the long term, we follow Athletics Canada's guidance for age limits:

Do you offer a virtual option?

Unless we must cancel due to public health conerns, there will be no virtual option this year.

What support will I find on the route?

While we highly recommend you get to know the route, there will be course marshals directing you along the course.

We also have waterstops at the following locations, put on by other local volunteer organizations:

  • Along the green, beside the lighthouse
  • Corner of University Ave and Beaverbrook
  • Along the Lincoln trail, just before it meets Wilsey Road
  • Northside Trail Centre (just past where the trail opens up)
  • Corner of Murray Ave and Canada Street
